When a person sees a Caucasian Ovtcharka puppy, the first thing he thinks is "look at that beautiful bear". The puppy is in fact adorable, with strong character and very independent; however, this little puppy will become in a few months into a beautiful Ovtcharka who will be willing to defend his master in any moment. The Caucasian Ovtcharka is an athletic dog by nature with an stable mind. The Russian saying "a healthy spirit lives in a healthy body" describes perfectly this breed.
The Caucasian ovtcharka is a strong dog, with a solid bond structure and with massive, well-defined muscles. His head is big and he has a bear looking. His ears are cut to avoid that they are bitten by common depredators in the country (bears and wolves). The dog has a strong devotion to his family.
The differences between genders is explicit: males are bigger and with more muscle than females; male heads are bigger and heavier than female ones. Compared to their size, they are reasonably cheaper as they consume half vs. other breeds of the same size.
